Review: Asylum (1972)

What a silly little movie!

Director: Roy Ward Baker

Runtime: 89 mins

“Dr. Rutherford never plays games.”

Dr. Martin is going to a job at an asylum. Before the job is his, he’s put on a test to find Dr. Starr between the pasients. We follow the stories of the pasients, before the crucial ending.

As in “Tales from the Crypt” and “Vault of Horror” it’s a movie divided into separate short stories. I have to say I liked the others better. It’s got the soundtrack, actors and atmosphere, but I found it a bit silly and outdated with a lack of flair. It’s rated one of the best movies from AMICUS, but I’ve seen better. Go for “The Skull” or “Tales from the Crypt” first.
