“He’s dead and you’re rich.”
A rich industrialist, Reynaud, tired of his fading sex-life with his wife, seeks excitement with other women. When the lovely Nicole moves into the flat above his, Reynaud falls in love. Nicole is ready for him, but has a sadistic stalker after her. Reynaud is willing to leave his wife for Nicole, but his wife has other plans, so does Nicole…and her stalker.
The movie starts of like a bourgeoisie melodrama before it turns into a full blown classic Giallo in the likes of “Les Diaboliques” (which many of the plots in the genre where build upon). A nicely plotted movie with high production values. It’s a bit slow, but never boring. When the twists hit it’s a very enjoyable affair. Cool soundtrack with a great title song (“Why”).One of Lenzi’s best Gialli.
