I used all of my powers to figure out the plot in this movie. Finally I understood that the director fucked that shit up.

“I have to find out what it was that I saw in that tomb.”
An American archeologist, his wife and daughter experience some trouble while in Egypt. He gets blinded by something in an ancient tomb, and his daughter gets an evil medallion from a blind woman(!). Back in New York the medallion opens a gate to the old Egypt. And something evil is lurking in that passage.
Except for a cruel attack by some stuffed birds there was little in the gore department. After many gory movie treats in a row, Fulci serves this. A bit dissapointed I have to say. The story and plot in “Manhattan baby” is so confusing, I do not know what the hell is going on. Lots of close up eye-shots and a film that would make any editor wanting to kill himself. Good, and a bit recycled, score from Fabio Frizzi. Some nice scenery and good atmosphere helps the movie a bit. To bad, with more gore and structure to the story, this could easily have been one of the best Fulci films.
