Review: The Hand (1981)

Even though it has some cool moments and a weird psychological cruelness to it, this will not be a favourite of mine.

Jon Landsdale is a cartoonist with a marital conflict. He looses his right hand in a freak accident, and after recovering he get some nasty blackouts. He see his right hand doing the nasty work of his anger. Is it himself or another force destroying and mutilating the people around him?

One of the first movies I remember on rental video in the early 80’s. Finally got to see this flick. I’m a big fan of Michael Caine, and he’s awesome as always. It’s an early pre “Platoon” horror from Oliver Stone. He’s doing a fine job as director, but “The Hand” doesn’t…grip me that much! Well made, and well acted, but lacks a real…punch!
