A group of scientists finds the skeletal remains of a man-like amphibium. They send an expedition into the Amazones to search for more. Suddenly they stand face to face with the “Gill-Man” while trapped in the black lagoon.

Finally seen this classic for the first time, and it gripped me from the get go! In the midst of the sci-fi monster boom of the 50’s, Universal studios goes in again with a non-cheezy monster flick! The story is pretty much the same as we’re familiar with; We get a bit scared, but sympatize with the poor creature. I liked the costume design, it actually worked. Also some well made underwater scenes. Had a good black and white time! Cheers!!!
