Review: Lifespan (1975)

The haunting score and the hypnotic voiceover did it for me. Another fine Mondo Macabro release!

“I wouldn’t settle for less than immortality.”

life3

A young American scientist arrives in Amsterdam to study Dr. Linden’s work of the slowing of age. When Dr. Linden suddenly commits suicide the young scientist tries to delve into his work and his private life, including a bondage-loving girl and a mysterious Swiss man who’s looking for the elixir of life.

life2

An intelligent and intriguing thriller about the search for immortality accompanied by a fantastic soundtrack by the American contamporary composer, Terry Riley. Though I’m not a big fan of too much voiceover, it kinda worked together with the score. It lacks a bit continuity and could have been even darker, but still a great watch.
