Review: Interrabang (1969)

The “Interrabang” is a nonstandard punctuation mark used in various written languages and intended to combine the functions of the question mark and the exclamation mark or exclamation point. Yeah, I don’t know, but it kinda fits.

“Interrabang, it rhymes with boomerang.”

A photographer, his wife, her sister and a horny model run out of gas outside a small deserted island. The photographer hooks up with another boat to get fuel. But the island contains a man, probably an escaped convicted, and a dead body. The women is stranded between the coastguard and the presumable convict. Let the drama start.

A nicely shot off-beat Giallo in the likes of “Top Sensation”(1969). The men are misogynic and the women are simple, or so it seems. A slow-paced fare with a cool twist at the end. Well played with a good-looking Haydée Politoff to keep up the interest. Glad to have seen it, but recommend it to hardcore fans of the genre only. The music was used again ten years later in the sleazy “Giallo A Venezia”.
