Review: Prom Night (1980)

This flick is worth watching for Jamie Lee Curtis’ disco dancing scene alone.

It’s highschool prom, and four teenagers are on a brutal killer’s hit-list. These four hides the bloody secret of a girl getting killed after a vicious child’s play six years earlier.

A classic slasher with a classic slasher theme. Shit from the past comes back to seek a revengeful good slash and kill time in the present. Well directed with some cool editing. The acting is good, and Jamie Lee is smashing. It has a slow build-up before the murders hit the screen after an hour. A mainstream slasher treat from the good old days, and we love it, don’t we? Will certainly check out the sequel.

A great looking transfer. The movie looks amazing. Synapse has some nice extras including deleted scenes, a documentary, audio commentary and more. A recommended release.
