Review: Haunting of Cellblock 11 (2014)

Staying the night at a closed down penitentiary full of vengeful ghosts? I rather sleep in my own bed tonight.

The TV-team for the show “Ghost Sightings” has to amp it up to avoid cancellation. They get contacted by an olderly man, who show them his scares, telling them about the horrific hauntings in a closed down penitentiary. And when the team gets locked up, they sure as hell have one of their worst nights ever.

Feared the worst with this cheapie, but got rather surprised. It is cheaply made, and the actors won’t get nominated for Oscars, that’s for sure. It’s pretty easy and cheap in all departments. But, all the flaws aside, I thought it worked well. The locations are really scary, and I was sitting on nails throughout much of the screening. A nice little gem that follows the recipy of a classic ghost story. It deserves to be seen.
