“I made them dance didn’t I?”
Lyle Wheeler is a petty thief with Billy the Kid as his highest idol. He steals a car and hook up with the beautiful waitress, Bobbie Jo. Together they drive away, leaving more and more shit behind, and a criminal record that gets the attention of a crazy sheriff. They team up with Bobbie Jo’s sister and her husband, and together they rob and kill their way through the state tailed by a bigger and bigger police force.
A pretty mainstream road-movie without any originality. It’s a mash-up between “Bonnie and Clyde”(1967) and “Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid”(1969). It seems like the intension was to just cash in on the drive-in audience, and they did as the beautiful Lynda Carter rouse to fame as “Wonder Woman”(1975-79) at the same time (showing her boobs four times in the movie). The casting is ok (Sylvester Stallone was the second choice as the leading man, but Marjoe Gortner took it) and the movie is a standard 70’s flick.
