Review: A Nightmare on Elm Street 6: Freddy’s Dead (1991)

How can you have great actors like Yaphet Kotto and Johnny Depp, throw in Alice Cooper and supply it with Freddy Krueger, and still not succeed?

Time has past, and Freddy has killed off all of the kids in the town of Springwood. When some youths from a nearby youth facility takes a trip to Springwood, Freddy uses his own kid who’s among them, to get to another bunch of teenagers. And the killing continues.

The least succesful of the follow-ups yet. Did not like the director or the story on this one. The acting is so poor it’s ridicoulus. The 90’s effects is focused on other things than gore, and they use it well. When this one was released, you could put on your 3D-glasses for the final part of the film for extra effect. But, the fear is replaced with more stupid one-liners and a lamer and more comical Freddy. Anyway, it’s a Krueger film, so there’s always some entertainment.
