Review: The Editor (2014)

Insanity, blood, tits, cigarettes, crappy dubbing and Udo Kier. This is the basic ingredients for a funky 70’s Giallo hommage.

A story about an editor who works in an Italian company in the late 70’s (i guess…). As he edit gory Gialli movies, murders are happening with the actors around him. The editor has one wooden hand after he went crazy and cut his fingers off in the editing room. Now he’s getting some weird visions, wondering if he himself is the murderer. The crew and Inspector all turn their attention to the editor, but something is wrong…

With shitloads of references to both the Giallo-genre and directors like Fulci, Martino and Argento it hits off like an hommage and a parody of these movies. Bitch-slapping moustache-wearing inspectors, loads of undressing women, bad dubbing and bloody killings adds to the feel. These guys know their b-movies, it’s amateurish but a whole lot of fun.

A new movie with loads of nice extras. Interesting to see how the movie was made.
