JWD: City of the Living Dead (1980)

Whazz up my drunks!! spilled some beer on dad-in-laws carpet lately?? I know i have.

What saves this cult-classic, one of Fulci’s most praised classics to be precise, is what saves all Fulci’s most loved movies; atmosphere and gore. What u dont’ get in quality acting in perhabs mindblowing plots you get ten times back in atmosphere…AND gore. Even his lesser good ones and the more sucky ones in the bunch; you get an whole amount of…what i mention upstaires (who whould go upstairs with me??).

Just paid a re-visit to the ‘City Of The Living Dead’, wich i havnet seen since 2007 or so and it’s the third time i’v seen it…ish. Well, at least the soundtrack isnt’ worth mentioning…………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………..KIDDING!! It’s apsolutley outstanding. On of my favorit horror-soundtracks ever composed, it’s soooo cryptic (and thick with atmosphere) and it couldnt’ fit better to this Italian zombie-classic. May i say un-beatable, it almost bring tears (of blood) to my eyes-i love this movie. The acting though, is for the most part, more or less tradic, exept for the American; Christopher George (R.I.P)-as Jornalist Peter Bell. He’s actually pretty good and has alot of charisma. Speaking of American; Im always «blown away» by Fulci (or who ever who made these kinda decisons on his films)-when his going for really American-sounding names like; Bob, Mary, John-John, Emily and combinded with akward dialog do to the forever BAD ongoing dubbing in his movies, it verry often sets an unvolantairly comical setting, wich for me (and most of all you other Fulci fans, if you dear to addmit it) has become his trademark. This is not nesesairly a bad thing, spessialy not in ‘City Of The Living Dead’ ;one of his best films. And Fulci-diva Catriona MacColl (hottie), has never looked better. Wish i could have had her back in the day. Pardon my bad english, look at it as drunken sluring.
