Review: Livide (2011)

To try to explain the message in this horror would be madness.

Three friends goes treasure hunting in an old mansion, only inhabitated by an old woman in coma. They take a key from around the womans neck to open a door. The key fits into a human music box with the corpse of the old womans ballerina daughter. Things get weirder and messier. The old house shuts down, and everybody has to pay.

A haunting tale that’s a bit over the top. Well played and very original. It’s a ghostly film turned serial-killer turned monster-movie, with a little part of unnecessary religious input (it just makes it weirder). It’s a lot of gory fun and cool nightmarish scenes, but it became too much of…something. The female lead is beautiful though.
