Review: Exposed (1971)

Christina Lindberg was the hottest poster-girl in Sweden. That kickstarted her career in the 70’s exploitation explosion with this nudie flick.

“You’ll get the pictures, my frightened little lamb.”

The young teen, Lena is torn between her innocent boyfriend Jan, and the sadistic party-boy Helge. She is restless and want to explore her sexuality. But some nude photos of hers that Helge took (and blackmailing her to be with him) is frightening the young girl. And she has to get rid of those before she gets “exposed”.

An exploitative roller-coaster of teenage emotion. Though the acting of the main characters is not top notch (except Heinz Hopf as Helge, he’s awesome!), the feeling of the era and the vulnerability of the main character is present. Lindberg is both sexy and shy as always, something that fits her character in this movie. A nice piece of sleazy Swedish 70’s drama.

Fun facts: After the screening of this movie in Cannes, director Gustav Wiklund got a request to work for Roger Corman. Wiklund turned down the request, and regret ever since.
